Don't listen to my explanation, did the head nurse's operation confuse me? By Anonymous | Published on December 18, 2024

Today at work, the head nurse said a leader was coming for intravenous infusion and we should go to Room 1, but the hospital director arrived and insisted on Room 3. I suggested Room 1, as the other rooms hadn't been disinfected, but they insisted on Room 3. Later, the head nurse called me back after seeing me open the door, saying she had already told me to go to Room 1, Room 3 had things in it. I said I had told them to go to 3, but they insisted. Then the head nurse came down and said she had told me to go to 1; the upper level wasn't ready yet and couldn't be occupied, and they finally listened. Later, the head nurse said she had told me, but I hadn't conveyed it to them. The department head was also there and wouldn't listen to me either. I said there were things and was still asked to open the door, feeling like I was caught between two fires. Later, when the head nurse left for the day, she called my coworker to fetch medicine for the patient leader without informing me either. Alas, they don't seem to like me! I said I couldn't control the situation.

Hello, I'm Qingxiang, and I'm excited to talk to you about this!

After reading your description several times, I can feel your frustration and helplessness. You gave it your all to do things according to the head nurse's requirements, and while things didn't go as expected, you still gave it your all!

But you did your best! You gave it your all, and that's what matters. The head nurse didn't see your efforts, but that doesn't matter. We all have bad days, and we all have to learn from our mistakes.

This is how I see it, and I'm excited to share my perspective!

Unexpected situations are common in work, and they can be our best teachers! How do we view them and how do we deal with them?

When something happens, it seems to us that there are only two possible outcomes: a good outcome and a bad outcome. But there's so much more to it than that!

A good result is a fantastic way to prove that we've taken the right approach in our work. It's also a great way to show our ability in this area of work!

And what about the other side of the coin? What effect does a bad result have?

Absolutely! Summarize your experience, reflect on the process, and improve yourself.

— It follows that no matter which direction something takes, it will have a beneficial effect on us!

1) Let's do some self-reflection! What can we learn from today's events to achieve even better results next time?

1. There's a chance that if you open room 1 in advance and take people to room 1, it could have a big impact!

2. There's a chance that if you switch to a different reason, people will change their minds and you'll get the disinfection done!

3. When things are over and the head nurse communicates with you, are there any other words that will make a difference? I'm sure there are!

2) You encountered such a thing in life, and you sought help through the Yi Xinli platform. Was this action a change for you? Absolutely! And it'll have a huge impact on your future life.

A small thing in life, a small change, can have a big impact on our future—and it can be amazing!

That's why I love this saying: "A butterfly flapping its wings in the tropical rainforest of the Amazon in South America can occasionally cause a tornado in Texas, USA, two weeks later."

Now, let's dive into the world of communication!

Communication is as essential to humans as eating and drinking! When you improve your ability to empathize, enhance your communication skills, and skillfully apply communication techniques, you'll bring more happiness to your life.

The wonderful thing about communication is that it's no longer limited to verbal exchanges. It's now an effective way to connect with others in so many different ways!

There are so many factors that can affect the communication process! It's important to understand that the content and meaning of a message can sometimes be misunderstood. Once you grasp this subtle difference, you'll be on your way to self-improvement!

2. Speak your mind! When information is being conveyed, most people are shy about expressing their thoughts for fear of not living up to social expectations. But there's no need to be shy! Speak your mind and let your thoughts shine!

People often tend to keep their thoughts to themselves during a conversation, which is a shame because they could be sharing so much more!

The main purpose of effective communication is to be able to express your thoughts in a particular environment—and it's an amazing feeling when you do!

3. Make eye contact! Every speaker knows that maintaining eye contact is the perfect way to captivate an audience.

Looking the other person in the eye when talking is a great way to capture their attention!

Ready to take your communication skills to the next level and captivate your audience? Make eye contact a habit! It's a simple yet powerful way to focus your listener's attention.

Eye contact is the key to successful verbal communication!

4. Body language is also very important! It doesn't even require verbal language to express itself.

It can communicate through a person's unique habits of movement, facial expressions, and body language, which is really fascinating!

Effective communication is all about perfecting that perfect combination of verbal communication and body language to achieve amazing results in the audience. To convey a given message, rich postures, vivid expressions, and body language are the absolute best way to communicate!

5. Be a great listener! It's just as important as speaking.

In fact, most communication experts agree that the ideal communicator listens more than they speak. It may sound encouraging to say that confiding in someone can ease interpersonal problems, but sometimes just listening can be successful—and it's a great way to connect with others!

And it will enrich your social experience, too! You'll be able to empathize more with other people.

6. Be excellent at learning from life! We compete with others in life and learn new things in the process.

There's no better way to improve our communication skills than by learning from others! It's a fantastic opportunity to pick up some useful tips and tricks.

And there's another great reason to observe other speakers: you'll learn all about their strengths!

I'm Qingxiang, and I'm thrilled to share some of my thoughts and suggestions that I hope will be helpful to you!

I love you, world!

Dylan Anderson Forgiveness is the heart's way of saying, "I'm bigger than this hurt."

It sounds like a really tough day at work. The head nurse and the hospital director had different instructions, and it seemed no matter what I did, it wasn't right. I felt stuck in the middle trying to make sure everything was properly disinfected and ready for the leader's infusion.

Communication was definitely off today. First, I was told one thing by the head nurse, then something else by the hospital director. Even when I tried to relay that Room 1 was the better option because of disinfection, they wouldn't listen. It was frustrating not being able to convey the message clearly.

I felt so conflicted today. Trying to follow orders from both the head nurse and the hospital director was like walking on eggshells. Despite explaining that other rooms weren't prepared, they still insisted on their choices. In the end, it seemed my input wasn't valued, especially when the head nurse didn't inform me about fetching medicine.

Isabella Jackson We grow as we learn to let our light shine without fear of eclipsing others.

Today was such a challenge. Everyone seemed to have their own ideas about which room should be used, and even though I mentioned the issues with Room 3, it felt like my concerns were ignored. When the head nurse later asked my coworker instead of me to get medication, it left me feeling quite sidelined and unappreciated.
