I can't study well, I don't know what to do, I just want to escape reality through death... By Anonymous | Published on December 18, 2024

I dropped out of high school due to poor stress resistance and was diagnosed with anxiety. I then went to a technical school, but my parents insisted I continue my education. I can't do anything except study, and now I'm struggling with my studies. My life seems meaningless, and no one is guiding me or even giving me a helping hand. I don't know what to do and am just thinking of escaping reality. It's really painful and difficult now.

Hello! I'll start by sending you a warm hug from afar.

You might feel a bit helpless and powerless right now, and you might also feel like you need support and understanding. You might also feel like you don't accept yourself very well and lack confidence.

Try to stick with your current uncomfortable emotions and think about what's causing them. For example, you might want to be accepted, understood, supported, and encouraged, but you also might be afraid of being rejected, disliked, denied, or harshly criticized.

When you can understand the needs behind your emotional feelings through your own uncomfortable feelings, you may find better ways to respond to and satisfy these needs. For example, you can tell your friends and family what you need, that is, how you want to be treated. At the same time, you will also try to give yourself this part of the needs through your own efforts.

The most important thing for you right now is to try to accept yourself better, build your confidence, and boost your sense of self-worth. You can start by making a list of your self-acceptance strengths, and you can also build your confidence and boost your sense of self-worth by keeping a gratitude journal.

It's a good idea to cultivate more interests and passions so that you can take control of more things.

Hello, question asker! I'm Shushu. It's so lovely to connect with you here on One Mind, thanks to our karmic connection.

I saw your question, and I'd love to talk about it with you!

You say that you feel like you can't do anything except study, that you can't even do that well now, and that you feel like there's no point in living. I'm really sorry to hear that. I'd love to understand more about why you feel this way. Did you come up with this idea yourself, or did your parents, teachers, or someone else tell you?

While you're a student, your studies are really important, and adults often remind you of that, which is totally understandable! But life is long, and after your student days are over, things like work, family, and so on might become more important. We need to make a change now, and that means we can't treat important things as the only thing.

You say you can't do anything except study, but I'm sure there's more to it than that. Is it because you haven't studied?

Or have you learned it, but not yet applied it? Have you had the chance to experience more things?

Maybe you haven't had the chance to do so in the past, but you can start now. Try new things, find things you like. You might not have discovered your strengths yet, or what you're good at, but you need to give yourself a chance to find out your unique value.

Your parents were able to let you drop out of school and find a technical school for you to attend. It may not have been their original plan for your life, but they have made adjustments and taken practical actions. I truly believe they love you and have not given up on you. So, my dear friend, how can you abandon them by taking your own life?

I can tell you with all my heart that death is not the answer. We can't escape reality after we die. It only causes more pain and suffering. Can you imagine hurting your parents after they've loved and cared for you for over ten years? They'd miss you every day and feel pain for the rest of their lives.

Your life is a gift to your parents. You have the power to stand on your own two feet. You can even support your parents in their golden years. This is the meaning of your life.

We're all just ordinary people, doing our best to live ordinary lives. And that's okay! As long as we do our best in this life, live each moment to the fullest, and "live as brilliantly as the summer flowers and die as quietly as the autumn leaves," without any regrets, then this life will have been very meaningful.

Karl Miller A teacher's ability to inspire critical thinking is a cornerstone of students' intellectual development.

I understand how you're feeling, and it's completely okay to feel this way. It's important to take a step back and breathe. Maybe it's time to seek out a counselor or therapist who can provide professional support. They might help you find new ways to cope with stress and anxiety.

It sounds like you're carrying a heavy burden all by yourself. Have you considered talking to someone you trust about what you're going through? Sometimes sharing your feelings with friends or family can lighten the load. You don't have to face everything alone.

Feeling lost is part of the journey, but that doesn't mean you're stuck. There are online communities and support groups where you can connect with people who may have had similar experiences. Connecting with others can give you strength and show you that there's hope and a path forward.

Your struggles are valid, and it's important not to rush yourself. Perhaps you could explore different forms of learning or education that better suit your needs and interests. Vocational training or courses in areas that spark joy might offer a fresh start and a sense of purpose.
