My grades are not bad, yet I'm still restless; where is the significance of effort? By Anonymous | Published on December 18, 2024

I wake up at five every day, follow the teacher's thought process in class, and almost use all my free time for studying. For this, I have received praise from several teachers, and my grades have always been among the top in the class. However, I may be too restless lately or something, and I can't see the significance of my efforts. In a specialized course, I have always been number one, which all depends on my waking up early and staying up late. But I've found that those who don't wake up early or stay up late, even those who don't study much, score quite well too, with only a small difference in points.

Hello question asker.

The main goal of our efforts today is not to compare test scores, learn better, or get praise from teachers. These are only secondary rewards. In the end, all our efforts will be realized in ourselves.

You feel irritated and can't see the point of your efforts! You study a lot, while classmates who don't study much do well in exams.

Your recent change in perspective may be related to the pressure you have felt, your exhaustion, and your lower expectations.

Lowered self-expectations mean you think you have done less than you have. You make value judgments based on past experience or general social laws. Based on these, you predict and expect the material or spiritual compensation you will or should receive. However, the compensation you actually receive is less than you expected. This makes you question your efforts or abilities.

The value of self-expectations is not fixed. It can be presented in many ways and is not completely predictable. Its value is also reflected in future development. It is difficult to see the specific development of future events clearly. The only clear universal law is that hardworking people are more likely to succeed than people who don't work hard. You can only get things by reaching out for them. You can only reap the rewards by taking action.

Effort doesn't mean using brute force. If you're tired, take a break. If you want to improve your learning efficiency, you can. The imbalance in your heart is understandable. Everything you've done is meaningful and valuable.

Keep going!

Hello, host!

From what the host has told me, he is an amazingly self-disciplined person. He'll undoubtedly achieve great things wherever he goes!

It's clear that the host is passionate about his grades. And while grades are important, they don't define a person's future.

The host, who is currently a student, may be feeling a little anxious and restless due to his obsession with his grades.

If you can adjust your mindset, relax, and re-evaluate the significance of your current grades, you'll feel a whole lot more relaxed!

2. I work so hard, and it's paying off! Even though others are working just as hard as me, I'm still achieving similar results. It's a great feeling!

This mentality is totally understandable! It's like in the workplace, where some people work hard for a similar salary to others, while some people have a very easy time all day long. This psychological gap is caused by an imbalance after comparing with others.

So, how can we overcome this unbalanced mentality?

The host is an amazingly self-disciplined student. He gets up at 5 a.m. and listens carefully in class. The reason why the host is so self-disciplined is that he has achieved incredible results in the top few places in the class. So, I ask, is the host enjoying these habits, or does he do them with such dedication to surpass others?

If these are habits that the host has formed on his own and enjoys, then the results he gets are a natural consequence and inevitable—and totally worth it!

If you try to surpass others and do it painfully, in the end, you will feel pain if you get similar results without studying very hard. But what if you could do it in a way that feels good? What if you could surpass others and feel great about it? What if you could do it without feeling pain?

So enjoy the fantastic results of your self-discipline! Don't compare yourself to others, just do what you should do and what you are willing to do. If you ultimately don't achieve as good results as others, just accept it with an open mind, and you'll feel great! Besides, in one of the major subjects, the current owner of the apartment has always ranked first, which is amazing!

It's none of our business whether others have worked hard, how much effort they've put in, or whether they've studied hard!

The meaning of hard work: You might think that hard work doesn't always lead to success. But it does! And if you don't work hard, you'll never succeed!

This old saying is absolutely true!

Absolutely! Our lives are so much more than just going to school, studying hard, and getting into a good university.

And then, after graduating from college, there's still so much to look forward to! You get to start a family, have children, and show your parents some filial piety.

These seemingly ordinary trivial matters in life may seem to be taken care of by some people casually, but only those who have experienced it know that in real life, and it is so exciting to experience it!

And there's more! You also have to work hard after you graduate to find a good job and start a family.

Work hard for the education of the next generation, and don't stop until you make your dreams come true!

.

That's why it's so important to work hard at each stage!

If you don't work hard at each stage, you won't achieve anything at any stage. So, get to it!

The current landlord is still in a very good state of learning. It's time to slightly adjust your obsession with results and enjoy the current state of hard work!

There's no doubt about it: a better future is waiting for you!

You are so good at this! Keep up the great work!

I am so excited to be here in this wonderful world with you!

Dear Question Asker, I also had some thoughts when I read your question, and I'd like to share them here in the hope that they might be of assistance.

Firstly, in terms of studies, you have worked hard and eventually your efforts have paid off, and you have achieved good results. Just as watering a tree encourages growth, if you work hard every day, you will eventually see the results. The sweet fragrance in the air is the best reward for your hard work.

This is already a highly satisfactory outcome.

However, you have observed that some individuals appear to be cultivating their achievements in a somewhat passive manner. Despite this, their efforts eventually yield positive outcomes, which can lead to feelings of frustration and a sense that your own contributions may not be as impactful as you had hoped. It is important to recognize that without your input, the success of the endeavor may still have been achieved.

In reality, this is not the case. Those who are lax in their tree-care responsibilities may welcome the blooming season this year, perhaps just because the rainfall was more favorable this year, or perhaps because no major disasters struck and their trees were able to grow safely.

However, what if there is a drought or an insect infestation the following year? How can those who are less diligent take care of their trees? And what can they use to make the trees bloom?

As long as you maintain a strong work ethic, the tree will not have to worry about any adverse circumstances. Day after day, you will eventually reap the benefits of a flourishing season.

Do you understand what I mean? People who work hard maintain a realistic outlook, develop a strong foundation, and conserve energy. They invest significant effort into expanding their knowledge base and are less concerned about short-term performance. They can maintain a positive outlook, take the initiative, and plan ahead.

Those who are lazy and don't work hard, and who succeed once or twice by relying on their cleverness, are like the "tree planters" who happen to encounter a year of good weather and rain, and who don't always see the flowers bloom. Without deep roots, their steps are light, and they can't be happy for long. They won't get far before they fall.

Therefore, do not concern yourself with the significance of your endeavors. As Kahlil Gibran perceptively observed, "People cannot reach dawn except through the path of darkness."

"The feathers of time sweep across the river of time, caressing a vast sea of stars, and will eventually reach the other side of your ideal. As Gu Cheng wrote in "The Alley": "The alley is long and winding, with no doors or windows.

I take an old key and knock on the thick wall. "Don't dwell on the significance of hard work. Just keep at it. Those who work diligently will eventually overcome it, while those who are less committed will eventually be left behind."

I hope this provides the inspiration you seek. Perseverance is key, so do not lose heart.

Branden Davis Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so most people don't recognize them.

I can totally relate to feeling a bit lost despite all the effort. It's frustrating when you see others not putting in the same hours yet still achieving similar results. Maybe it's time to focus on the quality of your study sessions rather than just the quantity and find a balance that helps you feel more at peace with your efforts.

Lane Davis The power of honesty lies in its ability to inspire.

Sometimes we put so much pressure on ourselves that we lose sight of why we started in the first place. It sounds like you're doing great, but perhaps you could try to enjoy the learning process more. Take some time for yourself, and remember that everyone has a different pace and method that works for them.

Zorro Anderson In the journey of life, honesty is the surest guide.

It's impressive how dedicated you are to your studies. But it seems like you might be burning out. Have you considered talking to someone about this? Maybe a counselor or even just a friend? Sometimes an outside perspective can help us realize our worth isn't tied to grades alone, and finding that balance between hard work and wellbeing is crucial.
