Abel Thompson, the mind behind the acclaimed novel "Whispers of the Horizon," has recently been honored with a Fulbright Scholarship for creative writing and an esteemed Wallace Stegner Fellowship. His work has graced the pages of renowned publications such as The New Yorker, Orion Magazine, Buzzfeed, World Literature Today, BBC Culture, and the collection titled "Beneath the Surface: Stories from the Frontlines of Climate Change."

A graduate with an MFA from the University of Arizona's Creative Writing Program, Abel has shared his passion for storytelling by teaching at the university’s fiction writing MFA program, during the annual Tucson Festival of Books, and within the English Department at Pima Community College in Tucson. When he's not crafting narratives that challenge and inspire, you can find him exploring the Sonoran Desert or leading workshops on narrative structure and character development in the heart of this vibrant southwestern city.

In March of 2024, Abel embarked on a new adventure, moving from the bustling streets of New York City to settle in the culturally rich town of Santa Fe, New Mexico. There, he continues to weave stories that resonate with readers across the globe, drawing inspiration from the diverse landscapes and the deep-rooted traditions of his new home.
