Abigail Thompson has earned degrees in environmental science and ethics from the University of British Columbia, and she is currently working towards her Ph.D. under the guidance of renowned ecologist and sustainability advocate, Dr. Jane Goodall, at Cambridge University in the United Kingdom.

During her sophomore year, Abigail came across Rachel Carson’s "Silent Spring" and was astonished by the profound impact human activities could have on the environment, as illustrated by Carson's meticulous research and compelling arguments. Inspired to explore the interplay between human behavior and ecological balance, Abigail spent several years volunteering in Costa Rica, where she engaged in reforestation efforts and wildlife conservation projects.

While fieldwork was fulfilling, it did not quench Abigail's thirst for understanding the broader implications of human-environment interactions. She delved into literature covering climate change, sustainable development, and eco-psychology. In her early forties, despite a long-standing commitment to cycling for transportation, Abigail faced challenges with chronic stress, which was significantly alleviated through mindfulness practices and adopting a more balanced lifestyle that harmonized with nature.

This personal transformation underscored for Abigail the importance of aligning our daily lives with natural rhythms for overall health and happiness. Today, Abigail contributes to the Green Living Initiative, an organization committed to promoting lifestyles that support ecological harmony and resilience. Her work focuses on creating awareness and practical solutions to help individuals live in greater sync with the planet, ensuring that we respect and preserve the delicate balance of nature.
