Abigail Green

Motto:You don’t have to have it all figured out to move forward.
Abigail Green, an inspiring advocate and community leader, infuses her grassroots campaigns with wisdom from her extensive background in sociology and her lifelong dedication to social justice. Recently featured on a popular podcast as a "community champion," Abigail has been making waves in the nonprofit sector.
In 2010, Abigail played a pivotal role in establishing a youth empowerment center in Portland, Oregon, partnering with local schools to provide after-school programs that focus on arts and leadership skills. She also spearheaded initiatives for environmental sustainability and collaborated with the city's botanical gardens to launch educational workshops on urban farming. Today, she works tirelessly with organizations like Youth Voices United, the Eco-Warrior Network, and the annual Build Our Future Conference, engaging thousands of young people, educators, and policymakers.
During the economic downturn in 2023, Abigail penned her compelling autobiography titled, "From Ashes to Action: Crafting Hope from Challenges." It recounts how she transformed a personal tragedy into a platform for change when she was just 22 years old. After overcoming her own adversities, Abigail found peace and fulfillment, and now dedicates herself to mentoring others facing similar struggles—whether they are dealing with grief or seeking personal growth. The proceeds from her book support projects aimed at building resilient communities.
Abigail shares her approach to healing and resilience publicly, encouraging everyone to adopt these accessible practices:
The Resilience Blueprint™
1. Acknowledge your story.
2. Identify the truths within your experience.
3. Challenge the recurring negative thoughts about your past.
4. Share your journey with those who have earned your trust.
5. Integrate the learning through physical activity, creative expression, therapy, mindfulness exercises, and beyond. #EmbraceYourJourney
A former outdoor adventure guide in the Pacific Northwest, Abigail is certified in various fitness disciplines including yoga, group fitness, and personal training. Her education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Oregon and a Master’s in Social Work from Portland State University. She also completed specialized training in trauma-informed care, which influences her work with youth and families.
Abigail thrives in the heart of the Willamette Valley with her partner, their rescue dog, and a flourishing vegetable garden. These days, you might find Abigail leading hikes in the nearby forests or practicing aerial yoga. Reach out to Abigail through her initiative, Roots & Rise, or by email at [email protected].
