Abigailah Bennett

Motto:An aim in life is the only fortune worth finding.
Abigailah Bennett, a certified physical therapist with a specialization in rehabilitative care for athletes and individuals recovering from musculoskeletal injuries, has dedicated her career to helping people regain their mobility and quality of life. Based in New York City, Abigailah works at the Urban Wellness Clinic, where she focuses on personalized therapy plans that cater to each patient's unique needs.
In early 2023, Abigailah made a significant shift in her professional journey by stepping away from direct clinical practice to focus on empowering patients and healthcare providers with knowledge on how to manage and prevent sports-related injuries. Recognizing the importance of translating evidence-based practices into everyday routines, she embarked on a mission to bridge the gap between research and practical application in the field of physical therapy.
Abigailah has authored several books and created a suite of digital resources aimed at guiding both professionals and the general public toward better health decisions. Her latest project, "The Recovery Path," is an interactive platform featuring live workshops, discussion forums, and video tutorials. This initiative will be supported by a mobile app, set to launch in Spring 2024, designed to provide continuous support and motivation for users as they progress through their rehabilitation journeys.
Her publications include:
- Healing Beyond the Gym: A Therapist’s Guide to Holistic Recovery (2022)
- From Injury to Triumph: Navigating Your Way Back to Fitness, 2nd edition (2020)
- The Athlete’s Guide to Speedy Recovery (2018)
Since 2010, Abigailah has implemented a comprehensive rehabilitation protocol that integrates cutting-edge techniques with traditional therapeutic methods. Her book, "From Injury to Triumph," outlines the core principles of this approach. The Urban Wellness Clinic's website, www.urbanwellnessclinic.com, offers a wealth of information and educational tools. The "Recovery Path" program details an action plan that can lead to improved outcomes even for those dealing with severe or chronic conditions. Her most recent book, "Healing Beyond the Gym," explores the psychological aspects of recovery and encourages a holistic view of health, combining physical, mental, and emotional well-being to aid in decision-making about treatment options.
Prior to 2022, Abigailah was a senior consultant at the Metropolitan Sports Medicine Institute in New York, NY. She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Columbia University in 2005 and completed advanced training in sports medicine and orthopedic manual therapy. Abigailah also established the NYC Sports Rehab Network in 2011, which serves as a collaborative space for healthcare professionals to exchange ideas on enhancing patient care. Additionally, she co-founded the Resilient Practitioner Program, which applies mindfulness and resilience-building strategies to help medical staff maintain peak performance and avoid burnout. Her innovative training programs have been integrated into the curriculum for students and fellows at various institutions.
