Adam

Motto:The best way to handle setbacks is to view them as temporary and surmountable.
Adam Brooks, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist with over two decades of experience in the field. After obtaining his B.A. from Harvard University and completing his doctoral studies at Stanford University, he furthered his education with a specialization in cognitive-behavioral therapy at Oxford University. Adam currently holds a position as an adjunct professor at Stanford University and has contributed to the psychology department at California State University.
Dr. Brooks's latest book, "Empowering Adolescents: Navigating Social Media and Mental Health," offers practical advice for raising teens who can thrive in the digital age. He has also penned "Building Bridges: Connecting Generations Through Understanding" and the "Mindful Youth Collection," a series of eight interactive guides aimed at promoting mindfulness among young people. Additionally, he co-created "Adventure Island," an educational app designed to teach problem-solving skills to children, which earned the Innovation Award from the American Educational Research Association. Alongside illustrator Emily Carter, he released two picture books, "Timmy Taps Into Tech" and "Tech Time with Timmy," crafted to guide young children through their first encounters with technology. These publications were praised by educators and parents alike. In collaboration with Dr. Laura Simmons, he produced "Blueprints for Early Learning," a resource that supports educators in fostering a nurturing classroom environment for kindergarten-aged children. Dr. Brooks has consulted for various institutions, such as the Silicon Valley Education Foundation, Bay Area Public Schools, and the Children's Health Council. He regularly presents workshops and seminars for both professional groups and community members, enjoying widespread acclaim within the region.
Adam balances his professional life with personal interests; when not consulting or teaching in Palo Alto, you might find him exploring local farmer's markets with his partner, embarking on surfing adventures along the California coast, or leading volunteer teams on environmental conservation projects.
