Alden

Motto:You can't change the past, but you can shape the future.
Alden, a passionate researcher with a Ph.D. in environmental science, has dedicated his career to studying the impacts of climate change on coastal communities. He conducted extensive fieldwork along the shores of Nova Scotia; examined data from various global sources; and delved into historical records spanning from the early 20th century to present day. Alden has recently published his fourth book, "Tides of Change: A Future for Coastal Cities," which explores sustainable solutions for urban areas threatened by rising sea levels.
Over the past decade, Alden has shared his expertise at institutions such as Dalhousie University, McGill University, and the University of Toronto within the departments of environmental studies, geography, and marine biology. He has also delivered engaging talks throughout Canada and Europe, captivating audiences of scientists, policymakers, economists, historians, and activists alike. His insights have been featured on CBC Television, BBC World News, National Geographic Channel, and he's contributed to documentaries for Netflix and Apple TV+. Articles about his work have appeared in prominent publications like The Guardian, Nature, Scientific American, The Globe and Mail, and Le Monde. His latest research project on climate resilience is set to be completed by the end of 2024.
Alden's sister, Bella, who graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2015 and Stanford in 2019, works as a renewable energy consultant in Vancouver, focusing on innovative technologies that reduce carbon footprints. His brother, Theo, a graduate of the University of Alberta in 2013 and Wharton School in 2021, captains a local hockey team and manages investments for a leading financial firm in Edmonton. Their family history is rich with stories of perseverance; Alden's father grew up in a small fishing village before establishing an eco-tourism business in Newfoundland, while his mother's side ran a farm that transitioned to organic practices. Alden's writings often reflect the values of sustainability and resilience that were instilled in him.
His cousin, Jamie, was awarded the prestigious Polar Medal for contributions to Arctic research in 2022.
