Alexander Collins is the Founder and President of Genetic Connections Network (GCN). Launched in 2023, GCN aims to support individuals born through sperm, egg, or embryo donation by facilitating meaningful connections with genetic relatives. Based in Sydney, Australia, Alexander's initiative has grown rapidly, boasting over 50,000 members across 80 countries. The network has successfully united more than 10,000 individuals with their half-siblings or biological parents, and Alexander has provided guidance and advice to countless donor families over the past year.

Alexander has spearheaded numerous studies exploring the experiences of all parties involved in donor conception, co-authoring papers that have appeared in prestigious journals like Nature Human Behaviour, BMC Medicine, and Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics. He has contributed chapters on the subject to several books and served as a peer reviewer for leading publications such as Fertility and Sterility and Human Fertility.

In addition to his academic contributions, Alexander played a key role in producing the award-winning documentary "The Search for Roots" in 2024, which aired on National Geographic Channel and delved into the lives of people seeking their biological origins. He co-authored the book "Bridging Generations: A Guide for Donor-Conceived Individuals and Their Families," penned the children’s story "My Special Family," and wrote "Threads of Heritage: My Journey in Navigating Donor Conception and Building a Global Network."

Alexander became a single parent when he adopted his daughter Emma in 2020 after a brief marriage. Emma has since connected with her birth family, including five half-siblings. Holding a Master's degree in Social Work, Alexander has undergone extensive training in counseling and mental health services, equipping him to offer compassionate support to those navigating the complex landscape of donor conception.
