Angus McAllister, a seasoned therapist and author of "The Path to Inner Peace: A Guide for Men" and "Embracing Change: Techniques for Personal Growth," embarked on his journey in psychology after earning his Doctorate from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. He furthered his education with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Over the years, Angus has enriched the academic community as a Full Professor at institutions like the University of British Columbia, Concordia University, and McGill University.
Trained in various therapeutic approaches such as Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Schema Therapy, Angus brings a wealth of knowledge to his practice. His expertise lies in men's mental health issues, particularly focusing on stress management, resilience building, and overcoming challenges faced by men in modern society, including substance misuse and coping with loss. An advocate for mental wellness, Angus also dedicates time to promoting awareness about male-specific health concerns.
A proud member of the Scottish community in Vancouver, Angus applies his cultural background and personal experiences to foster a unique approach in aiding individuals on their path to recovery. Today, he runs a thriving private practice nestled in the heart of Vancouver, offering personalized support and therapy sessions that have positively transformed many lives.
