Motto:The greatest risk in life is to risk nothing.

Artemis, a dedicated environmental scientist with a focus on the relationship between urban green spaces and community well-being, completed her Bachelor of Environmental Science, Master of Urban Planning, and Ph.D. at the University of Edinburgh. As of 2024, she is now collaborating with the Scottish Centre for Ecology and the Natural Environment.

Her doctoral research delved into how revitalized green areas can enhance mental health and foster stronger communities in urban settings. In addition to her academic pursuits, Artemis has hands-on experience in managing sustainability projects, conducting impact assessments, and promoting eco-friendly initiatives. She has been actively involved in transforming neglected urban zones into vibrant public spaces that serve as hubs for social interaction and relaxation.

Artemis's passion lies in exploring how parks and green corridors can act as restorative environments, contributing positively to mental health. She is also interested in the psychosocial benefits of these spaces, such as the development of community spirit, increased social cohesion, and a deeper connection to one's surroundings. Her work aims to highlight the importance of integrating nature into city planning to improve quality of life for all residents.

This December, Artemis will be presenting her latest findings at an international conference in Glasgow, where she hopes to inspire new policies and practices that prioritize green space development in urban areas.
