Asher Carter, M.D., M.P.H., is a dedicated clinician and educator at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Medical School. Currently, he holds the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and serves as the Director of Community Outreach for the department. Prior to joining UCSF, Asher was the Chief Medical Officer at the San Francisco Mental Health Center.

Asher has a rich background in both internal medicine and psychiatry, with specialized training in child and adolescent psychiatry. His expertise has been acknowledged through board certifications in these fields, which have allowed him to make significant contributions to mental health care.

In recent years, Asher has been instrumental in establishing new programs that focus on early intervention for youth mental health issues in the Bay Area. He has led initiatives that aim to destigmatize mental illness within local communities and improve access to psychiatric services for underserved populations. Asher's efforts have not only enriched the academic environment at UCSF but have also had a profound impact on community health.
