Averil Pearl Montgomery

Motto:The best way to predict the future is to create it.
Averil Pearl Montgomery, a dedicated educator, environmental activist, lifelong learner, mother, and an amateur writer, has made it her mission to inspire and nurture the next generation of leaders in sustainability. Her life is centered around empowering young minds across various communities to embrace creativity, find solutions to environmental challenges, and foster a deep connection with nature.
Averil's enthusiasm lies in collaborating with groups ranging from enthusiastic students and passionate educators to innovative startups and established enterprises. She has been privileged to guide young visionaries, including student activists, award-winning project leaders, and eco-conscious entrepreneurs who have gone on to launch impactful initiatives that benefit their local environments.
Her journey has taken her to the vibrant city of Portland, Oregon, where she has led workshops and seminars at schools and universities, encouraging students to explore sustainable practices. Before settling in Portland, Averil worked alongside teams from organizations like Patagonia, REI, and The Nature Conservancy, helping them integrate sustainable practices into their operations.
To further her mission of spreading awareness about the importance of environmental stewardship, Averil has penned four books aimed at different age groups:
"Green Seeds for Young Minds: Cultivating Environmental Stewards Through Education"
"Eco Warriors of Tomorrow: A Guide for Teens to Lead Sustainable Change"
"A Planet to Protect: Engaging Kids and Teens in Environmental Action"
"Sustainable Futures: Teaching Eco-Consciousness to the Next Generation"
She has also produced two educational DVDs:
"Discovering Nature: An Introduction to Environmental Awareness for Kids"
"Building Green Dreams: A Resource for Teen Activists"
Through her work, Averil hopes to cultivate a community of environmentally aware citizens who are ready to take on the challenges of preserving our planet for future generations.
