Avery Dakota Walker

Avery Dakota Walker, M.D., took on a new chapter in her career as the Medical Director of Emergency Psychiatric Services at Seattle Grace Hospital, located in the heart of downtown Seattle. Since joining the hospital in early 2024, Dr. Walker has also been appointed as a Visiting Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Washington School of Medicine, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to both the teaching staff and the emergency psychiatric team.
Dr. Walker's journey to Seattle began in New York, where she was already making waves in the field of psychiatry. Her move westward marked not only a personal relocation but also a significant professional transition. In her new role, she focuses on providing compassionate care to patients experiencing acute mental health crises while mentoring the next generation of psychiatric professionals. Under her leadership, the department has launched several innovative programs aimed at improving patient outcomes and supporting community mental health initiatives.
Since arriving in Seattle, Dr. Walker has quickly become an integral part of the medical community, admired for her dedication and commitment to advancing psychiatric care in the Pacific Northwest.
