Benjamin, Ph.D., is a professor of psychology at the University of California, San Diego, where he has earned accolades including the UCSD Chancellor Awards for Excellence in Teaching, Research, and Community Engagement. Beyond instructing a wide array of courses, Benjamin spearheads the campus’s Cognitive Neuroscience Lab, focusing on how brain functions influence human behavior. He also holds the position of founding director for the university's Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program (INP), which integrates knowledge from various scientific fields to better understand the complexities of the human mind.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Benjamin has been instrumental in establishing the Southern California Neuroscience Society (SCNS), fostering collaboration among researchers across the region.
