Bertranda

Motto:You must learn a new way to think before you can master a new way to be.
Bertranda Moore, Ph.D., takes on the role of a visiting associate professor at the University of Cape Town's Faculty of Health Sciences and contributes her expertise at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa. Bertranda has recently published a book titled Resilience and Recovery: Empowering Strategies for Overcoming Life’s Challenges. Prior to dedicating herself to the field of resilience psychology, she spent two decades exploring the vast landscapes of Australia, traversing its deserts and coasts while working with indigenous communities and leading workshops on emotional well-being and trauma recovery.
In the summer of 2022, Bertranda embarked on a new chapter when she moved to Cape Town from her longtime home in Sydney. Since then, she has not only adapted to the vibrant culture and breathtaking scenery but has also become an integral part of the academic and healthcare community. Her work focuses on helping individuals rebuild their lives after experiencing significant adversity, drawing from her rich experiences abroad and deep understanding of psychological principles.
Bertranda is passionate about integrating traditional healing practices with modern psychological therapies, creating a holistic approach that resonates with diverse populations. In her free time, she enjoys hiking up Table Mountain and engaging with local artists in the bustling markets of Bo-Kaap. Through her teachings and writings, Bertranda aims to inspire hope and foster strength within those who face life's toughest trials.
