Camilla Stewart

Camilla Stewart, Ph.D., is a Certified Clinical Psychologist and an Accredited Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Practitioner. Camilla serves as a senior lecturer and head of the Psychology Department at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, where she also leads research initiatives on mental health and wellness. She contributes regularly to The Australian Journal of Psychology and Insight Magazine.
With more than two decades of experience under her belt, Camilla has worked across diverse environments, including urban clinics, university counseling centers, community-based organizations, and online therapy platforms. In Brisbane, she oversees CBT training programs for emerging therapists and conducts seminars that focus on therapeutic strategies for managing stress, chronic pain, eating disorders, and PTSD. An active member of several psychological societies, Camilla sits on the Queensland Mental Health Advisory Board and volunteers with the local chapter of Beyond Blue, a leading organization supporting people affected by anxiety and depression.
Camilla is passionate about promoting awareness and reducing stigma around mental health issues. Having overcome personal challenges with anxiety and depression, she brings a unique perspective to her work, drawing from both professional expertise and lived experience. Today, Camilla continues to advocate for improved mental health resources and support networks within her community.
Outside of her professional commitments, Camilla enjoys traveling with her partner and their two cats. She’s an avid hiker and can often be found exploring the trails of the Great Dividing Range. Camilla is also a fan of Australian Rules Football, cheering for her beloved Brisbane Lions.
