Cecelia Knight

Motto:Many hands make light work.
Cecelia Knight, Ph.D., (University of Cambridge, 2015) is a vibrant media psychologist serving as an Associate Professor at the University of Oxford in England. Her work bridges the gap between media studies and environmental psychology, focusing on how digital landscapes can foster sustainability, mindfulness, and community engagement. Cecelia explores innovative ways that technology and media can be harnessed to promote eco-consciousness, personal growth, and social harmony across platforms like virtual reality environments, online forums, documentaries, and interactive apps.
In 2023, Cecelia launched the groundbreaking Eco-Media Impact Index, a tool designed to measure the positive influence of media on environmental attitudes and behaviors among adults and youth. She has also authored "Media for a Greener World," the first comprehensive book on ecological media psychology, and contributed to numerous peer-reviewed journals and publications. Among her accolades, Cecelia secured a £2.5 million grant from the Green Foundation UK to investigate the role of media in promoting sustainable lifestyles and mental health awareness.
As the Director of Education at the Sustainable Media Institute, Cecelia develops training programs for educators and establishes guidelines for organizations aiming to integrate sustainability into their digital strategies. Dr. Knight is dedicated to inspiring others with the principles of ecological media psychology, advocating for a future where media serves as a powerful catalyst for both personal and planetary well-being.
