Dakota Skyler West

Motto:Zero in your target, and go for it.
Dakota Skyler West is the author of "Bridges Over Troubled Waters: Navigating Life's Challenges with Resilience and Grace" and "Sunsets and Silver Linings: Crafting a Life Beyond Adversity". She earned her MSW from the University of Southern California, School of Social Work and holds a certification as a Therapeutic Yoga Instructor. Over the past decade, Dakota has been actively involved in mental health advocacy, working as a psychotherapist, program coordinator, and clinical consultant in diverse settings that span from coastal wellness centers to urban crisis intervention units.
On a crisp autumn morning in October 2023, Dakota found herself in the bustling city of Portland, Oregon, where she had moved to embrace a new chapter in her life. The vibrant community and lush greenery provided the perfect backdrop for her latest venture – establishing a holistic healing center dedicated to supporting individuals struggling with trauma recovery and personal growth. Her mission was clear: to integrate traditional therapeutic practices with alternative healing methods such as yoga and mindfulness.
In this dynamic environment, Dakota quickly built a network of professionals who shared her passion for integrated care. Together, they organized workshops, support groups, and retreats that catered to the needs of those seeking a balanced path towards mental and emotional well-being. Within just a few months, the center became a cornerstone of hope and resilience in the community, attracting participants not only from Portland but also from neighboring states.
Dakota’s approach to therapy emphasizes empowerment and self-discovery, encouraging clients to tap into their inner strength while providing them with the tools necessary to overcome obstacles. Her compassionate yet straightforward manner has earned her respect and admiration among colleagues and clients alike. As Dakota looks ahead, she envisions expanding her work to reach even more people, spreading the message that healing is possible and transformation is within everyone’s reach.
