Damaris Okafor, M.Ed., is a passionate advocate for neurodiversity and an educator specializing in personalized learning strategies. Her career has led her to various corners of the world, from teaching in classrooms across Nigeria and South Africa to collaborating with educators in Brazil, Japan, and Sweden.
At the age of 32, Damaris was diagnosed with dyslexia, which sparked her dedication to raising awareness about learning differences. Since then, she has been using platforms like her YouTube channel (YT: @NeuroDiverseNest) and engaging webinars to share her story and insights, providing encouragement and practical tips for those navigating similar experiences or supporting loved ones with unique learning needs. Inspired by her diagnosis, Damaris has committed herself to mastering the nuances of dyslexia and other learning challenges, always eager to learn and grow.
Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Damaris not only supports individuals through one-on-one coaching but also takes on roles as a Curriculum Developer and Education Consultant. She works closely with schools around the continent, designing innovative programs that cater to diverse learners.
