Motto:The best way to measure success is by how far you've come from where you started.

Daphne Marlow, Ph.D., is a senior lecturer in cognitive science at the University of Auckland. With more than two decades of hands-on experience in investigating how people interact with technology and each other, Daphne has made significant contributions to the fields of education, environmental conservation, and community development. Her research often bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, focusing on enhancing communication and collaboration among diverse groups.

In March 2023, Daphne spearheaded an initiative that brought together local Maori tribes, government agencies, and tech startups to tackle the issue of water pollution in New Zealand's rivers. This collaborative effort resulted in the creation of an innovative app that not only tracks water quality but also promotes sustainable practices within communities. The project was launched in the Waikato region, one of the most scenic yet environmentally challenged areas in the country.

Daphne's work extends beyond academia; she is actively involved in translating her research into actionable solutions. To date, she has authored over 75 articles and delivered more than 80 talks at both regional and global forums. Currently, she leads the Sustainable Innovations Lab (SIL), where she mentors a dynamic group of researchers and students. Together, they strive to address pressing social and environmental challenges by integrating traditional wisdom with cutting-edge technology. Through their efforts, they aim to foster a future where humans live in harmony with nature.
