Daphne Fiona Foster

Motto:Blood is thicker than water.
Daphne Fiona Foster, MA, LPC, (founder of HeartWhisper Wellness) boasts over two decades of dedication and expertise as a licensed therapist in the heart of New York City. Daphne is an adjunct professor at Columbia University’s Teachers College, Department of Counseling and Clinical Psychology, where she shares her passion for integrative mental health approaches. Specializing in holistic therapies that incorporate the mind, body, and spirit, Daphne has received advanced training in mindfulness-based interventions, expressive arts therapy, somatic experiencing, and narrative therapy.
Daphne holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from New York University and completed her Bachelor’s Degree at Barnard College. She has specialized in trauma recovery, working with individuals affected by urban stressors, domestic violence, and community resilience. Formerly, Daphne was the program director at the Manhattan Center for Healing Arts, where she facilitated support groups and therapeutic services for survivors of interpersonal violence.
Since 2015, Daphne has been fostering HeartWhisper Wellness, an initiative aimed at promoting emotional literacy and resilience through workshops and online courses offered across the United States and Europe. Her workshops invite participants to explore personal growth and healing through a blend of experiential activities and reflective practices, all outside the traditional clinical setting. Daphne collaborates with The Harmony Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering underserved communities through music and creative expression, serving as a consultant, facilitator, and advocate.
A frequent guest on wellness podcasts and international webinars, Daphne shares insights into the transformative power of storytelling and art. She contributed to the anthology "Voices of Resilience: Stories of Triumph Over Adversity" (Smith, J. 2023). Daphne also developed "The Journey Within," an interactive journal designed to guide adolescents and adults through self-discovery and emotional regulation.
Her forthcoming book, "Thorned Pathways: Unveiling the Strength Within Us," uses the metaphor of a rose's journey from bud to bloom, illustrating how each thorn represents a challenge overcome and every petal a layer of strength revealed. Just like the rose, we are both delicate and resilient, growing more beautiful with each experience that shapes us.
Daphne's mission is to Cultivate Courage in others by helping them find their inner voice. She continues to grow in her roles as a clinician, educator, author, lifelong learner, partner of 25 years, mother of one young adult, and a woman deeply committed to nurturing the soul.
