Motto:The more you give of yourself, the more you receive in return.

Darius O’Connor, Ph.D., is a lecturer in cognitive psychology at Trinity College Dublin. He completed his doctoral studies at the University of Oxford and has held research positions at Harvard University and the London School of Economics. His work has graced the pages of leading academic journals and caught the attention of outlets like The Guardian, BBC News, Wired, Financial Times, Psychology Today, and even made it to prime-time slots on popular science shows on Discovery Channel. His family loves to tease him about his appearance on the show "Mind Mysteries," which aired last year.

In his research, Darius explores how ancient cognitive biases influence modern decision-making processes. One significant strand of his work examines the impact of environmental changes on human behavior, particularly focusing on how people adapt their routines and social interactions in response to climate change challenges. This December, as winter tightens its grip on Dublin, Darius finds himself especially engrossed in how communities are preparing for extreme weather conditions, both in safeguarding themselves against immediate risks and adjusting long-term social structures to accommodate a changing world.
