David Woods

Motto:Even Homer nods.
David Woods earned his B.A. in Communications from UCLA and an M.B.A. from Stanford University. He then moved to Austin, Texas, where he became a professor at the University of Texas, teaching courses on Leadership and Innovation. His research delved into the collaborative processes within tech startups, exploring how diverse teams can innovate under pressure.
A self-proclaimed film enthusiast, David had an epiphany during a rainy afternoon while rewatching "The Social Network." It struck him that the dynamics between the characters mirrored those in high-stakes startup environments. Inspired by this realization, he began to see that film production teams are much like agile development squads in the tech world, facing tight deadlines and relying heavily on trust and adaptability.
Since that moment, David has shifted his focus to analyzing the film industry, applying his knowledge of business and communications to uncover the secrets behind successful movie-making. He has published several articles on leadership lessons from Hollywood and is now working on a book that explores how the principles of filmmaking can enhance team performance in any industry. Through his work, David aims to bridge the gap between entertainment and enterprise, showing that there's a lot we can learn from the magic of cinema.
