Dominic

Motto:If you're not happy with where you are, move. You're not a tree.
Dominic Marquez, MA, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Psychotherapist running his own practice in Austin, Texas. As of December 2024, Dominic serves as the Lead Therapist at Heartland Wellness Center and also teaches part-time as an adjunct professor in Psychology at St. Edward's University. Over the last 15 years, Dominic has dedicated himself to helping people from all walks of life, initially through community health centers, juvenile justice programs, and university mental health services before transitioning into private practice full-time in 2023.
With a background rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Art Therapy, Dominic's approach to therapy is deeply personalized, aiming to empower clients to uncover their strengths and resilience. He draws inspiration from his personal journey and focuses on assisting those who feel marginalized or misunderstood by mainstream society. Dominic feels particularly drawn to working with veterans, individuals with trauma backgrounds, artists, and entrepreneurs, learning invaluable lessons from their unique perspectives and experiences.
Inspired by the potential for growth found in unconventional therapies, Dominic has become increasingly interested in the field of integrative medicine and ecotherapy. He is now involved with GreenPath Alliance, a non-profit organization based in Texas that advocates for and supports individuals seeking holistic and nature-based healing methods. Dominic remains committed to exploring the ethical implications and innovative opportunities presented by these alternative therapeutic approaches, always striving to provide compassionate and informed care.
