Motto:Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase.

Donovan Baker, Ph.D., is an associate teaching professor in the Department of Environmental Science at Greenfield University, where he also oversees the Thompson Family Program in Sustainability and Innovation. Based in the bustling city of Portland, Oregon, Donovan leads the design of interactive learning experiences for the course Earth and Our Future, which explores how we can live harmoniously with nature. Recently, he has been collaborating with institutions around the globe to foster similar educational programs, all thanks to a generous grant from the Global Education Fund.

His passion for sustainability doesn't stop there. Donovan's latest book, "The Harmony Principle," released by EcoPress, delves into practical methods for integrating sustainable practices into daily life. With a focus on community engagement and hands-on learning, Donovan continues to inspire students and educators alike, showing them that even small changes can lead to significant impacts on our planet.

In March 2024, Donovan was invited to speak at the International Conference on Environmental Education in Kyoto, Japan, where he shared innovative approaches to teaching sustainability. His dynamic presentation style and commitment to creating a better world have earned him a reputation as a leading voice in the field.

Living in the heart of Portland, Donovan enjoys exploring local farmers' markets, participating in community clean-up days, and leading workshops on renewable energy. When not immersed in his work, you might find him hiking the scenic trails of the Pacific Northwest or volunteering at a nearby wildlife sanctuary. Through his efforts, Donovan Baker is not only educating but also empowering the next generation to become stewards of the earth.
