Duncan MacLeod, Ph.D., currently dedicates his efforts at the Boston Children's Hospital as a research scientist. His focus is on understanding how genetic factors influence the brain's reaction to various therapeutic interventions for children with neurological disorders. Prior to this position, Duncan spent several years collaborating with Dr. Emily Carter at Harvard Medical School, where he utilized advanced neuroimaging techniques to examine the impact of early-life stress on cognitive development.

He received his doctorate in developmental psychology from McGill University in 2015, concentrating on the long-term effects of childhood trauma and the neural mechanisms that contribute to resilience in adolescents. Over the years, Duncan has shared his insights through contributions to Child Mind Institute publications, acting as a guest writer since 2017. He also penned articles for The Atlantic, focusing on child psychology and mental health awareness.

In 2023, Duncan's project, "Neuroscience of Resilience," was featured in a special edition of Scientific American, garnering significant attention from both the scientific community and the general public. Duncan continues to bridge the gap between complex neuroscience and practical applications for improving children's lives. His work not only advances academic knowledge but also informs policy and practice in pediatric care.
