Easton Joseph Franklin is the author of "Resilience in Times of Uncertainty" and "The Strength Within Us."

He is a Clinical Psychology Professor at Boulder State College (Colorado University System). Easton graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University, where he was an honors student. He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and served as a research assistant in the psychology department. Before earning his doctorate in clinical psychology, Easton worked as a data analyst at the University of California, Berkeley. His clinical internship took place at the Denver Child Guidance Center. In 1995, he completed his Ph.D. at the University of Colorado Boulder. Upon graduation, Easton secured a postdoctoral fellowship at Yale University, where he collaborated closely with leading experts on resilience and trauma recovery.

From 1995 to 2003, Easton co-led studies focusing on mental health interventions and community-based support systems. In 2005 and 2006, he was an advanced fellow in the Trauma Recovery Clinic affiliated with Yale School of Medicine.

Easton embraces the scientist-practitioner model, intertwining his research on resilience and personal growth with clinical interests in trauma therapy and emotional regulation. Currently, Easton is spearheading several initiatives aimed at building community resilience, including the launch of a resilience app, organizing workshops for first responders, and researching resilience among disaster survivors. He has practiced in diverse settings such as veteran healthcare centers, college counseling services, and community mental health clinics. His specialties include treating PTSD, developing psychological assessment tools, and providing training on resilience and stress reduction techniques.

Easton is on the editorial boards of the Journal of Community Psychology and APA's Journal of Trauma Psychology. He is affiliated with the American Psychological Association, the Rocky Mountain Psychological Association, and the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance. He has reviewed grant proposals for the National Science Foundation concerning mental health and resilience and has been featured in both local and national media outlets, including NPR and CNN. Easton has delivered over 70 lectures and published extensively on topics related to trauma recovery and mental health. Born in Colorado Springs, his interest in resilience was sparked by his own experiences growing up in a mountain town that faced frequent natural disasters.
