Ella Rose Walker is an educator with a passion for helping students unlock their full potential. In the heart of San Francisco, Ella runs a community learning center called The Learning Hive. Her journey took an interesting turn when she decided to explore the world of coding and its impact on young minds.
In 2023, noticing that technology plays an increasingly pivotal role in education, Ella became fascinated with how programming skills could empower her students. With no clear path on where to start, she dove headfirst into the realm of coding bootcamps and online courses, eager to find the most effective resources for teaching tech literacy.
Ella has enrolled in four intensive coding workshops by this fall, each held in bustling co-working spaces around San Francisco. She plans to participate in three more sessions before the end of the year. A former librarian turned tech enthusiast, Ella now dedicates her time to understanding "how we learn in the digital age," what ignites a spark in a young learner, how attention spans and access to technology are shaping the educational landscape, and whether our schools are equipping students with the right tools for a future dominated by artificial intelligence and data science.
