Erick Johnson earned a PhD in Environmental Science from the University of California, Berkeley, where he explored the impact of climate change on coastal ecosystems. His research bridges multiple disciplines, such as marine biology, climatology, environmental economics, and sustainable technology. Erick has lectured at various universities, including a stint as the Climate Change Research Fellow at the Institute for Environmental Studies in Sydney, Australia, and the Sustainability Fellow at the Green Futures Lab in Seattle.

He co-authored "Sustainable Cities of the Future" (Oxford University Press, 2022), which garnered attention worldwide and was translated into several languages by 2024. He also contributed to numerous journals like Environmental Science & Technology, Climatic Change, and Renewable Energy, and penned thought-provoking articles for popular platforms such as The Guardian, National Geographic, and Wired.

Now residing in Vancouver, Erick spends his days researching renewable energy solutions, teaching part-time at the University of British Columbia, consulting for green startups, and leading workshops on sustainable living. In his downtime, he enjoys exploring the lush trails around the city, organizing community beach clean-ups, and mentoring young scientists eager to make a difference in the world.
