Finley Simmons

Motto:It's a small world.
Finley Simmons had a thriving career as an environmental scientist for 15 years at the University of Edinburgh, where he also spent four years leading the department's sustainability initiatives. After deciding to step down in early 2023 due to personal health challenges, Finley embarked on a journey of self-discovery and healing.
In response to his new life circumstances, Finley penned "Living Green: An Eco-Inspired Guide for Sustainable Living." This book not only reflects his deep-seated passion for nature but also offers practical advice on how to live harmoniously with the environment. "Living Green" received the prestigious Green Book Festival Award in 2024, recognizing its contribution to promoting sustainable practices.
An updated edition of "Living Green" was launched in 2024, featuring fresh insights and additional tips for those looking to reduce their carbon footprint. The revised version includes new chapters that delve into community action and green technology advancements.
Scheduled for release in June 2024 is the "Pocket Guide to Living Green," designed to be both a companion piece and standalone resource for enthusiasts and newcomers alike. This handy guide will provide readers with quick access to essential eco-friendly living principles.
In 2022, Finley released his second book, "Breathing Life: A Guide to Reconnecting with Nature," which explores the profound connection between human well-being and the natural world. It has been praised by environmentalists and general readers for its insightful approach to achieving inner peace through outdoor activities.
His third book, "Embracing Change: Navigating Life's Transitions with Mindfulness," came out in 2023. It addresses various aspects of life changes, from professional shifts to personal growth, and provides guidance on maintaining mental health during turbulent times. Special sections are dedicated to friends and family members, offering them tools to support loved ones experiencing transitions.
Finley writes in an engaging and conversational tone, aiming to inspire people from all walks of life to embrace compassionate, joyful, and meaningful lifestyles. His books, available in audio format from major platforms, are enriched with relatable anecdotes and simple exercises that encourage readers to adopt sustainable habits.
Finley resides in the picturesque countryside of Scotland with his partner, Fiona, and their energetic border collie, Willow. He shares his insights and experiences online at www.finleysimmons.com.
