Gabriel Xavier Clark

Motto:You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.
Gabriel Xavier Clark, M.D., (he/him) is a distinguished psychiatrist with certifications in adult psychiatry and addiction medicine. Based in San Francisco, California, Gabriel graduated from Stanford University School of Medicine in 2010 and completed his internship in general medicine at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center. He then finished his psychiatry residency at UCLA's Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, where he also specialized in addiction psychiatry.
After completing his training, Dr. Clark embarked on a journey that took him to Seattle, Washington, before settling in the vibrant city of Austin, Texas, in 2015. For nearly a decade, he has dedicated himself to supporting individuals and communities in overcoming substance use disorders and mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, and trauma-related conditions. His work emphasizes compassionate care and recovery-focused treatment plans, integrating traditional therapeutic methods with innovative wellness strategies.
Dr. Clark has authored numerous articles on the intersection of mental health and addiction, aiming to destigmatize these issues and promote evidence-based practices. In 2023, he published "Pathways to Recovery: A Guide for Understanding Addiction," which quickly became a resource for clinicians and families alike. The book highlights the importance of personalized care and community support in the healing process.
Beyond his clinical practice, Gabriel is an advocate for mental health awareness. He has been invited to speak at conferences across the country and has made appearances on various media platforms, sharing insights on mental health and addiction. His passion for education has led him to teach medical students and residents, fostering the next generation of mental health professionals.
A former member of the U.S. Navy, Dr. Clark served from 2006 to 2012, including a deployment to Afghanistan. His military experience has profoundly influenced his approach to patient care, instilling in him a deep respect for resilience and the power of human connection.
Dr. Clark’s mission is to foster dialogue around mental health and addiction, promoting understanding and empathy. He believes that by integrating scientific knowledge with personal narratives, we can create more effective and compassionate solutions for those seeking help. Through his efforts, he hopes to challenge misconceptions and build bridges toward a healthier society.
