Motto:Haste makes waste.

Genevieve Reed, a dedicated educator and community leader, has recently taken on the role of Director of the Environmental Studies Program at the University of Oregon. Prior to this position, Genevieve spent over a decade fostering innovative learning environments at various institutions across the Pacific Northwest. As of 2024, she continues her affiliation with the University's Sustainability Office, driving initiatives that promote ecological awareness and sustainable practices.

Based in Eugene, Oregon, Genevieve is also the visionary behind the newly established Green Roots Foundation, an organization committed to nurturing environmental stewardship within local communities. Her work bridges the gap between academia and activism, encouraging hands-on education and community involvement in preserving natural habitats.

In early spring of this year, Genevieve spearheaded a campaign that led to the planting of over 500 native trees along the Willamette River. This event not only beautified the area but also played a crucial role in restoring the riverbank ecosystems. Under her leadership, the University of Oregon and the Green Roots Foundation have partnered to create educational programs aimed at empowering youth to become future environmental leaders.

Genevieve's efforts have been instrumental in bringing together diverse groups of people who share a common goal: to protect and enhance our natural world for generations to come.
