Motto:There is a season for everything, a time for every purpose under heaven.
Giselle Martinez, a licensed clinical social worker, thrives at the Heartland Wellness Center’s Anxiety and Resilience Program (ARP), an outpatient clinic dedicated to individuals grappling with severe anxiety disorders. Since joining ARP in 2023, Giselle has spearheaded the Mindfulness and Acceptance group, where she cultivated many of the concepts that would later shape her influential guide: "The Path to Inner Peace."
Giselle boasts an extensive background in education and mentorship. Serving as a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration, she mentors master's level students and leads workshops on Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Having delivered over 50 professional talks, Giselle recently conducted an immersive training session in São Paulo, Brazil.
In early 2024, Giselle embarked on a new chapter by taking up the mantle of Executive Director at the Global Mental Health Alliance. This organization is committed to educating communities worldwide about mental health issues, aiming to enhance understanding and treatment quality; promoting research into the origins and innovative treatments for various mental health conditions; ensuring better access to support resources for those affected and their families; and advocating for the rights and recognition of individuals living with mental health challenges.
Over the past year, Giselle has intensified her efforts to raise awareness about mental health through digital platforms. She regularly contributes articles to a popular wellness blog, MindfulLiving.com, offers expert insights to CNNHealth.com, and has been featured in numerous online pieces, podcasts, and television segments across North America, sharing her knowledge and passion for mental health advocacy.
