Grace

Motto:The power of a positive self - talk can boost your confidence.
Grace M. Thompson, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist and Professor at the prestigious University of Sydney, located in the heart of Australia's largest city. Grace has been dedicated to her field since obtaining her doctorate in clinical psychology, where she found her calling as an educator, researcher, therapist, and advisor.
Her research primarily focuses on resilience, emotional intelligence, and mental health promotion among adolescents, all explored through a culturally diverse lens. Recently, Grace embarked on a new project investigating the impact of digital detox on mental well-being and the role of traditional Aboriginal healing practices in modern therapy. In 2023, Grace was honored with the Distinguished Mentor Award by the Australian Psychological Society for her outstanding support and guidance to early-career psychologists.
Grace is actively involved in several professional organizations including the Australian Clinical Psychology Association, the International Association for Youth Mental Health, and the Society for Research in Adult Development. She has contributed significantly to the academic community by publishing many peer-reviewed articles and chapters in books that delve into topics such as emotional intelligence, adolescent development, and the integration of indigenous wisdom in psychological practice.
On a sunny day in March 2024, Grace delivered a keynote speech at the annual Psychology Convention held in Melbourne, discussing innovative approaches to integrating cultural heritage into contemporary therapeutic methods. Her work not only enriches the academic discourse but also paves the way for more inclusive and effective mental health care worldwide.
