Hazel Young is a distinguished professional in the field of Environmental Science, holding dual certifications in Sustainable Urban Planning and Renewable Energy Systems. She serves as an Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne and Monash University.

In her recent role, Hazel was the Lead Scientist for the Urban Green Spaces Initiative at Deakin University, Head Supervisor of the Water Conservation Program at the University of Sydney, and Project Manager for the Solar Energy Deployment project at the Australian Renewable Energy Agency.

Her work has garnered attention in numerous publications, including featured articles in Nature Sustainability, Renewable Energy Focus, and the Journal of Environmental Management.

Currently, Hazel is spearheading efforts to introduce Eco-Friendly Building Workshops across various public libraries in Melbourne, such as the State Library of Victoria and Glen Eira City Libraries.

She now leads the Environmental Solutions Consortium, a private consultancy firm based in Melbourne and Geelong. Hazel frequently engages with community groups, students, and environmental experts through workshops and webinars, and she's a regular guest on national radio programs discussing sustainability and urban development.
