Ida

Motto:The only thing that will stop you from fulfilling your dreams is you.
Ida J. Carter, Ph.D., is a Professor of Psychology and the Head of the Community Outreach Program at the Institute for Mental Health at University of Sydney. Ida has dedicated her career to enhancing community awareness and support for mental health issues, focusing on depression, anxiety, and resilience-building among adolescents. With over 20 years of experience in both clinical settings and academia across Australia, she has become a leading voice in integrating psychological practices into everyday life.
Since moving to Sydney in 2005, Ida has been instrumental in developing programs that not only provide immediate support but also educate the public on long-term mental health strategies. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards and she has authored more than 250 articles and several influential books on the subject. Last year, Ida launched an initiative aimed at connecting rural communities with mental health resources through digital platforms, bridging the gap between urban and rural access to care.
In her latest endeavor, Ida has focused on crafting accessible guides that highlight the practical steps individuals can take to improve their mental well-being. These publications are designed to be user-friendly, offering real-world advice that can be easily applied by anyone looking to foster positive change in their lives or assist others in doing so. Through her teaching and writing, Ida continues to inspire new generations of psychologists and therapists to approach mental health with empathy and innovation.
