She is also the author of three influential books: Preserving Our Planet: Strategies for Sustainable Living (2018, Earthscan), The Silent Sands: Climate Change and the Future of Deserts (2022, MIT Press), and Oasis in Peril: Lessons from Ancient Civilizations on Sustainability (2023, Princeton University Press). Through her work, Ione aims to inspire a new generation of scientists and policymakers to tackle the pressing issues of our time with innovation and urgency.
