Isla

Motto:The power of hope and optimism can light up the darkest of tunnels.
Isla Myles has championed community-driven reconciliation projects in Europe, Southeast Asia, the Pacific Islands, and Oceania. She is deeply committed to uncovering the stories that foster genuine dialogue and making sure everyone's voice is heard clearly and respectfully. Isla penned the inspiring book Weaving Words: Crafting Peace Through Stories of Unity. Since 2018, Isla has been working with the British Humanitarian Aid Network, an organization dedicated to peacebuilding and humanitarian efforts across the UK.
Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, Isla has not only focused on international initiatives but also on local grassroots movements that aim to bridge divides within communities. Her dedication to understanding the nuances of different societies and their conflict resolution strategies propelled her to earn a degree in International Relations from the University of Edinburgh. In January 2023, she moved to Wellington, New Zealand, where she continued her work while immersing herself in the rich cultural tapestry of the region.
In her latest venture, Isla has embarked on a journey to establish a network of peace ambassadors among youth in the South Pacific. This initiative aims to empower young leaders to become catalysts for change in their own communities, fostering an environment of empathy and cooperation. By organizing workshops and dialogues, Isla hopes to create lasting connections that transcend borders and cultures, paving the way for a more harmonious world.
