Jackson Miller, Ph.D., is a dedicated educator and psychologist at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he has been the head of the Clinical Psychology Department for over two decades. Jackson also maintains a private practice in downtown Seattle and Bellevue, offering teletherapy sessions to accommodate clients from various locations. His expertise lies in humanistic psychology, aiming to help individuals find meaning and fulfillment in their lives.
Jackson is certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) in Counseling Psychology and is an esteemed member of both the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Society for Humanistic Psychology. In 2023, he was honored with the prestigious William James Award for his contributions to psychological science from the American Psychological Foundation.
Dr. Miller received his doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of Oregon and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in qualitative research methods at the University of California, Berkeley. Over the years, Jackson has explored numerous topics within psychology and has contributed more than 150 scholarly articles and conference presentations to the field. He has penned or co-authored several influential books, including "The Art of Living: A Guide to Personal Growth" (published by HarperCollins), "Understanding Mental Health in Today's World" (Oxford University Press), and "Therapeutic Encounters: Navigating Life's Challenges" (Routledge). Additionally, he wrote "Finding Your Path: Practical Steps to a Fulfilling Life," a self-help guide published by Penguin Random House, which offers practical strategies for personal development and well-being.
Through his work, Jackson continues to inspire students and patients alike, fostering an environment that encourages exploration and growth in the heart of the Pacific Northwest.
