Jakob grew up in the heart of Berlin, Germany. He earned his B.A. in Philosophy from Humboldt University and later pursued an M.F.A. in Creative Writing at New York University. Jakob is the author of two critically acclaimed books: A Path Unseen: Journeys Beyond the Map, a narrative that explores unconventional travel experiences, and Echoes of the Past: Reflections on Cultural Heritage, which delves into the importance of preserving our historical roots. Last year, he collaborated with filmmaker Lena Schmidt to write the documentary The Last Canvas: Unveiling the Secrets of Street Art, which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival. Besides writing, Jakob cohosts a popular podcast called Urban Legends with his friend and fellow storyteller, Marcus. Together, they unravel the mysteries of urban myths from around the world, bringing these tales to life for their listeners.
