James Thompson, Ph.D., is a distinguished professor of Environmental Science at the University of Washington, Seattle. With over two decades of experience, James has authored 25 books focusing on environmental sustainability, urban wildlife interaction, and green technology innovations. He has received numerous accolades for his groundbreaking work, including the prestigious Earth Guardian Award. James has collaborated extensively with international conservation groups and serves as an advisor to the World Wildlife Fund. In addition, he volunteers his time mentoring youth at the Seattle Youth Nature Club.

Last month, in November 2024, James was honored as a Pioneer by the League of Conservationists. His latest publications include "The Urban Jungle: Balancing Cities and Nature," "Wildlife Within: Coexistence Strategies for Urban Areas," and "Empowering Green Cities: A Blueprint for Sustainable Development." The most recent book that James co-authored, "A Future for All: Imagining Cities in Harmony with Nature," was released by Yale University Press in September 2024. Upcoming in January 2025, "Nature's Blueprint: An Essential Guide to Urban Ecology" will be published by Oxford University Press. (More information about James's books can be found here.)
