Josiah Turner, Ph.D., is a professor of environmental science at the University of California, Berkeley. He earned his B.A. in Environmental Science from Stanford University and an M.S. in Sustainable Development from Columbia University; he completed his Ph.D. at Harvard University in 2010.

Turner has been actively involved in research concerning climate change mitigation, renewable energy adoption, and sustainable urban planning. His book, "Sustainable Cities: A Blueprint for the Future," was published by Princeton University Press in 2015, and his latest publication, "Harnessing Solar Power: The Path to Energy Independence," came out in 2023 through the same press. Josiah is currently working on a project that explores innovative methods for carbon capture and storage. More insights into Turner's work can be explored on his personal website.

In recognition of his contributions, Josiah received the prestigious Green Innovator Award in 2018 and was awarded a Fulbright Scholar Grant in 2022 to further his studies in international sustainability practices. In 2024, he was elected as a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina, Josiah now resides with his family in the vibrant city of Berkeley, where he enjoys hiking in the nearby redwood forests and engaging with the local community on environmental initiatives.
