His research delves into critical questions like how urban planning can foster ecological balance, how renewable energy technologies can be integrated into daily life, how communities can adapt to climate change, and how education plays a vital role in fostering a sustainable future. Juan has been an active member of the editorial board for the journal Sustainability Practices and has contributed to numerous committees focused on environmental policy and innovation.
Juan has spearheaded several projects that have attracted nearly $35 million in funding from both governmental and private sectors in Argentina and Portugal. These initiatives not only aim to advance scientific understanding but also strive to apply this knowledge directly to benefit local communities and industries.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Juan authored the acclaimed book “Harmonizing with Nature: A Guide to Sustainable Living,” which has become a valuable resource for educators, policymakers, and anyone interested in sustainability. The book is available in (online) bookstores around the world and continues to inspire people to take action towards a greener planet.
