Juniper Woods

Juniper Woods, Psy.D., is a San Francisco-based licensed clinical and educational psychologist. She is an adjunct professor at the School of Education, Stanford University, and a research collaborator with the Mind & Life Institute, focusing on mindfulness and education. Woods specializes in strength-focused therapy for adolescents facing academic pressures and mental health challenges, promoting resilience and positive youth development. Her work has taken her to various parts of the globe, including working with young refugees from the Syrian crisis since 2015, supporting children affected by natural disasters in California, and counseling students in high-stress school environments.
Woods has presented over 60 workshops and lectures across continents, sharing her knowledge with educators and mental health professionals in more than 30 countries. Her publications include scholarly articles and two influential books: "Mindful Schools" (2020), co-authored with Jane Smith, which explores integrating mindfulness into educational settings, and "Building Resilient Youth" (2024), offering practical strategies for fostering youth resilience. Both works are grounded in solid research and tailored to diverse cultural contexts, having been translated into multiple languages.
She was instrumental in founding the Global Youth Mental Health Network, an international platform for practitioners and researchers dedicated to improving mental health outcomes for young people. Woods serves on the advisory board for the International Association for Positive Education (IAPE) and received the Distinguished Educator Award (2022) from Stanford University as well as the Global Impact Award (2021) from the IAPE for her contributions to the field of positive psychology and education.
