A sought-after expert, Kai has been featured on platforms like NPR, The Oprah Magazine, Self, Men's Health, and many others.
Kai brings an innovative approach to therapy by integrating mindfulness practices with traditional counseling techniques. His journey into therapy began after a successful career as a professional musician, where he learned the power of rhythm and harmony not only in music but also in human interactions. From an early age, Kai was drawn to the guitar, and by his teens, he was performing locally. He earned a degree in Music Performance from Berklee College of Music, where he majored in Contemporary Writing and Production. Following his passion for music, Kai toured extensively across North America and Europe, sharing stages with artists such as Norah Jones, John Mayer, and K.D. Lang. After deciding to shift gears, Kai pursued a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Lesley University, followed by specialized training in couples therapy at the Gottman Institute.
With over two decades of experience bridging the worlds of music and psychology, Kai uses his background to help clients find their rhythm in life and love. He believes that much like playing an instrument, healthy relationships require practice, patience, and tuning. Drawing upon his knowledge of the interconnectedness between body and mind, Kai guides clients through exercises designed to deepen their awareness and enhance their relational skills. When appropriate, he collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide a holistic approach to therapy. By assigning thoughtful 'practice' activities, Kai empowers his clients to apply what they learn in sessions to their everyday lives, fostering lasting change and fulfillment.
