Kaitlyn Lisa Lee

Kaitlyn Lisa Lee, Ph.D., is an esteemed Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Melbourne and serves as the Director of Student Wellbeing Programs within the Department of Psychology. She is also a senior consultant at the Melbourne Centre for Emotional Health, where she contributes to the development of innovative mental health initiatives. Kaitlyn has been honored with multiple accolades for her exceptional contributions to education and clinical practice, including the prestigious University of Melbourne Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence, the Australian Psychological Society’s (APS) Community Service Award, and the APS Medal for Contributions to Professional Psychology.
A graduate of the University of Queensland and the University of Melbourne, Kaitlyn completed her postdoctoral research in emotional processing at Harvard University. Her latest book, "Emotional Intelligence in Practice: A Guide for Therapists," co-authored with colleagues Jane Foster, Mark Thompson, and Emily White, was released by Routledge in March 2023. The publication is now integrated into various psychology training programs across Australia and New Zealand. It has also been translated into several languages, including Japanese, Spanish, and Arabic, with plans for a German translation underway.
In addition to this, Kaitlyn authored "Building Resilience Through Therapy" in collaboration with her research team, which was published in 2015, and her third book, "Tailored Approaches to Mental Health," hit the shelves in 2021 under the Allen & Unwin imprint. Living in Melbourne, Kaitlyn dedicates herself not only to her professional pursuits but also to fostering a supportive community that promotes mental wellness among its members.
