Katerina Petrova, Ph.D., is a distinguished professor of philosophy at the University of Melbourne. Her latest book, "Empowering Us: Diversity as an Ethical Imperative," has been highlighted by The Guardian as one of the top 20 books of 2023 and praised by Harper's Bazaar as “revolutionary.” Katerina’s ongoing campaign for everyday inclusivity has also made its way into the pages of Australian Vogue.

Her work delves into the realms of moral philosophy, multicultural philosophy, and practical ethics. Currently, she is concentrating on diversity and inclusion, having secured a prestigious Major Leverhulme Fellowship and an ARC grant to further this research. She has led several international, multidisciplinary projects focusing on digital privacy, the governance of personal data, property in technology, and gender equality in leadership roles.

Among her previous works are "The Integrated Self: Ethics and Management of Digital Personhood" (2014), "Universal Ethics: A Comprehensive Guide" (2012), and "The Philosophical Insights of Amartya Sen" (2006). Katerina has co-edited several volumes, including "The Routledge Companion to Universal Ethics" (2015) with Jonathan Seglow; "Global Equality and Justice" (2012) with Michael Thompson; "The Regulation of Personal Data" (2010) with Brian O'Shea; and "Gender Equality in Leadership" (2007) with Elena Ivanova and Maria Gonzalez.

Prior to her current engagements, Katerina was a member of the Australian Digital Privacy Advisory Board (2008-2014) and served on the Philosophy panel for the Research Excellence Framework 2015. Her insights continue to shape the discourse on ethics and inclusion in the academic world and beyond.
