Lance Morgan, Ph.D., is an environmental scientist specializing in climate change and sustainable development. Throughout his doctoral studies at the University of British Columbia (UBC), he explored innovative solutions for carbon capture and storage to combat global warming. In 2018, Lance relocated to Germany to collaborate with the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, where he delved into strategies for enhancing urban resilience against extreme weather events. Later, at the Technical University of Munich, he spearheaded projects aimed at integrating renewable energy sources into existing power grids.

By 2024, Lance had established himself as an Associate Professor of Environmental Science at ETH Zurich’s Department of Environmental Systems Science. Here, his research focuses on developing sustainable technologies that can mitigate the impacts of climate change while promoting economic growth. His work has garnered recognition from esteemed organizations such as the European Research Council, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and the Swiss National Science Foundation. Additionally, Lance was honored with the prestigious Green Innovation Award by the World Economic Forum in 2022 for his groundbreaking contributions to clean technology.

Beyond his professional achievements, Lance cherishes his time spent outdoors with his energetic 10-year-old daughter. They often embark on hiking adventures in the Swiss Alps, where she delights in imagining herself as a wildlife explorer, discovering new species and solving ecological mysteries. Their weekends are filled with laughter and wonder as they explore the natural world together, fueling her dreams of one day becoming a leading conservationist.
